Who we are

We are three women united by a strong friendship and a deep love for this Island.
We are driven by the desire to give back what we have received, moved by the hope of seeing what is now abandoned come back to life.

Libra and Taurus, our zodiac signs are both ruled by Venus, the planet of love, beauty, and harmony. Coincidence? Perhaps. Balance between lightness and stability guides both our work and our deep friendship.

We share a profound love for Sardinia. We live in different areas of the island, close to the sea on the western coast or among the lush countryside of the Sarcidano, yet wherever we go, we explore it with eyes and hearts never tired of wonder.

We both chose to return here, to the Island, after years of studying and working abroad. First London, then Australia for Giulia Lai, who earned a degree in midwifery before answering the powerful call of her hometown, Gergei. She returned after four years, purchasing the house of Mario Cesare, a beloved local artist, and restored it with deep respect for the original architecture, local materials, and essential simplicity of the spaces — preserving the artist’s works.
Today, Casa Mario Cesare welcomes travelers from around the world who, upon stepping through its small wooden door, fall in love with both the house and with Giulia herself.

Giulia Serpi and Gioia Casu, known professionally as BULBO, form a creative duo born over ten years ago from the union of their skills in communication, architecture, and photography.
They shared the same high school desks, but university paths led them far from the island, to San Francisco, Milan, and Venice. Eventually, they settled in Padua, where they opened their first studio. After two years, they left the city and northern Italy behind to return to Sardinia.

From here, they continue to work in branding, content creation, and interior design for national and international companies in the food, hospitality, and beauty sectors.
Their projects include the renovation of numerous commercial and hospitality spaces, both within and beyond the island’s borders.

Scouting, the meticulous selection of materials and building techniques, and a non-stereotypical storytelling of the Island — in all its facets — are at the very heart of their creative vision.
